They reached the knockout stages of their first ever major tournament when they played in the Round of 16 of the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year. The Namibians now come into this one on the back of a difficult start to 2025 AFCON qualification, suffering back-to-back defeats in their opening two matches. They now face a Zimbabwean side that began their qualifying campaign with back-to-back goalless draws against Cameroon and Kenya.
