Nigeria’s most recent outing saw them held to a goalless draw by Rwanda last month. The Super Eagles remain under the tutelage of interim coach Augustine Eguavoen with no permanent manager to be appointed following Jose Peseiro’s departure in the aftermath of their 2023 AFCON final defeat to the Ivory Coast earlier this year. They now face a Libyan side that have declined again in the last 18 months or so with a 2-1 defeat to Benin last month meaning they have now managed just one victory in their last five matches. Nigeria are expected to win this one quite comfortably, despite their inconsistency and uncertainty.
