The South African national team, coached by Hugo Broos, are expectant of a famous international cycle with potential 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification but, first of all, they must ensure qualification for the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations. They were frustrated by a 2-2 draw with Uganda in their first qualifier before managing to edge past South Sudan by three goals to two.
