English Premier League

On the back of League Cup action over the course of the week, the Premier League goes again this weekend with Gameweek 10, as Fantasy Premier League managers get ready for another crucial round of fixtures.

Choosing a Gameweek 10 captain is critical to the success of FPL bosses and once again we’re on hand to provide assistance with a selection of some of the stand-out captaincy choices.

Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) vs BHA (H)

The Egyptian boasts 35 FPL points across the last four gameweeks including three returns totalling double figures. Salah is also currently the highest scoring fantasy asset in all positions right now with 84 points to his name in total, including six goals and five assists. Liverpool host Brighton in Gameweek 10.

Cole Palmer (£11.0m) vs MUN (A)

As it stands, Palmer has racked up only 5 points less than Salah after nine rounds of fixtures and bagged his seventh Premier League goal of the season last weekend against Newcastle. That was also his 12th attacking return in total and with Chelsea travelling to Man Utd next up, it would be no surprise to see Palmer increase his tally.

Virgil van Dijk (£6.1m) vs BHA (H)

Whilst captaining a defender always represents a substantial risk for FPL managers, Virgil van Dijk warrants such a gamble when considering Liverpool’s ability to keep clean sheets and the Dutch star’s offensive threat from set pieces. Van Dijk averages 5 points per game across the last five gameweeks and is part of a Liverpool backline who boasts five Premier League clean sheets already in 2024-25.

Jarrod Bowen (£7.4m) vs NFO (A)

So often the main man for West Ham, Bowen’s goal against Man Utd last Saturday made it three attacking in as many gameweeks for the attacking wideman, recording 21 FPL points over the period. The Hammers visit Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 10 and those looking for a more differential captain should look towards Bowen as a viable candidate.
