Lobi Stars have played just one game at the start of this 2024/25 Nigerian Premier Football League season and that saw them share a goalless draw with Akwa United on the opening weekend of the campaign a couple of weeks ago. They now face a Rivers United side that, under the management of former Nigeria international Finidi George, appear a very strong side and have started by collecting four points from their opening two matches against Bendel Insurance and Heartland. Given the opening stages of the season, Rivers United would appear firm favourites for this one.
