Denmark reached the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2020 but have underperformed and underwhelmed ever since that extra-time defeat to England at Wembley Stadium. Christian Eriksen, after suffering a cardiac arrest in Denmark’s opening game of that tournament, instead scored their opening goal last week in a 1-1 draw against Slovenia. England edged their way through to a typically determined and well controlled opening game victory that has become a hallmark of Gareth Southgate’s reign at major tournaments as they held off Serbia by a goal to nil. England have gears to go through, should remain solid enough at the back and come up against a Denmark side that will feel under a bit of pressure so a fairly comfortable English win should be expected.
